The "hot rooms"
- One crystal is always in the same place, but the other six are scattered
through the house. (A random number assigns a location to each crystal.)
- These rooms are "hot rooms"; the crystals may be here:
- First floor: refectory; billiard room; pantry
- Mezzanine: Mongolian sitting room
- Second floor: library; the bedroom with the tapestry of nymphs and satyrs;
the Venetian bedroom; the pine-panelled bedroom with the painted canvas
floor; the Elizabethan bedroom
- Third floor: the bedroom with the Hudson River School paintings (can
be entered only through the first-floor mud room); the medieval study; the
Moorish-Roman sitting room in the southern part of the house
- Fourth floor: the dressing room (can be entered only through the first-floor
mud room)
